This page explains, in plain language, what happens to the details you give us. It follows South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who is responsible
centaur.africa is a trading name of Detoil (Pty) Ltd. Detoil (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for the information described here.
What we collect
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, your work email, your company name and phone or WhatsApp number if you choose to give them, which service you are interested in, and your message.
Why we collect it
To reply to you and arrange your call. We don't use it for anything else, and we don't share it, other than with the services listed below that help us receive it.
Where it goes
When you send the form, your details are emailed to our team and added to a private record in our Notion workspace. We use Resend to send the email, Notion to keep the record, and Google Firebase to run this website. To limit spam, the website also keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address, rather than the address itself, and deletes it automatically after a short time.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry for 12 months after our last contact with you, and then delete it.
Analytics and cookies
This website has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It sets no cookies. If you close the notice about our change of name, your browser remembers that on your own device. Nothing about it is sent to us.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email fred@detoil.co.za and we will reply within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
